What Celebrities Are Fighting the Homeless Crisis?

These four well-known celebs are among the most passionate when it comes to taking on homelessness. From building homes to leading their own charities, these five celebrities are joining the fight to help the homeless of America.
Beyonce
Before famed singer Beyonce achieved mainstream success, she was a kid helping the less fortunate. At just 10 years old, Beyonce and her younger sister, Solange, worked together to provide meals for the homeless in their hometown of Houston, TX. Her love for the people of her hometown has stayed with her ever since. Since 2015, Beyonce has donated over $7 million towards adequate housing for the homeless. The housing she has funded provides meals and services such as health screenings and job readiness assistance. With thousands living without a home in Houston, her work has undoubtedly fostered a safer and healthier community.
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus is best known for her role as the titular character on the Disney Channel show “Hannah Montana” and hit songs such as “Party in the U.S.A.” and “Wrecking Ball”. However, Cyrus’ career goes beyond the stage or big screen. She has conducted extensive philanthropic work throughout her career. She has raised proceeds through personal item auctions, donated to non-profits, and performed in benefit concerts. In 2014, Miley Cyrus founded the Happy Hippie Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on homelessness. The organization provides homelessness assistance, particularly for LGBTQ youth. Her work is inspiring due to LGBTQ youth being particularly susceptible to homelessness.
Drew and Jonathan Scott “The Property Brothers”
You likely recognize the Scott twins from their hit television show “Property Brothers”. They specialize in flipping and renovating homes for families seeking a place to call home. When they are not busy filming their show, they are volunteering their time with the non-profit organization “Habitat for Humanity”. This non-profit assists in building and providing adequate housing for homeless families. The pair has assisted the nonprofit in building numerous homes for homeless families. The dynamic duo joins other notable individuals who have volunteered for the organization such as former President Jimmy Carter and country singer Garth Brooks.
Jon Bon Jovi
Rockstar Jon Bon Jovi, founder and front man of the band Bon Jovi has led quite an electric career. He has sold millions of records and has performed to countless sold-out concerts. He has translated his energy and passion into The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, a non-profit that he founded in 2006. The organization works to provide amenities such as food, education, health services, and shelter to individuals such as the homeless or domestic abuse survivors. Additionally, his non-profit seeks to design greener and cleaner shelters with energy efficient appliances and recycled materials.
