I agree with your point. Once a year is not enough. Volunteering is a way to help build interactions and community. I have been volunteering in a food pantry every weekend for around ten years now and I am still going whenever I can( with the exceptions of when I am out of the city). Sometimes I just walk around the neighborhood and people recognize me and greet me.

Although the link may be targeted to college students, this is something that everyone should actively do. It is important to always stay healthy.
